The project’s vision is to develop education concepts and methods based on restoring children’s smiles during and after the time of the pandemic.
The aim of this project is to develop a social and emotional curriculum with an emphasis on happiness to encourage student motivation, and to train teachers and involve parents on how to approach primary school students and create conditions for happy children and students.
Goals:
– This project will be based on objectives such as gathering best practices in schools and creating a brochure with the best practices in social and emotional training at the EU level, developing a social and emotional curriculum with an emphasis on happiness as a basis for motivating students.
– Develop training programs for teachers with an emphasis on happiness to improve students’ creativity, creating an atmosphere and mindset for students.
– Creating a motivational avatar application is the goal that will be the main carrier of this project.
Identified Problem:
The major issue is that the pandemic has affected the physical and mental health of children, combined with a severe lack of motivation to learn and to be part of school life in general, causing widespread trauma. This has led to poor or below-average education, loss of routines, and work habits.
The target group of this project:
1. Students aged 6 to 10 years old
2. Parents of students aged 6 to 10 years old
3. Teachers of students aged 6 to 10 years old
Our intervention logic for the target groups will be:
– Analysis of existing best practices used in schools and identification of gaps;
– Awareness-raising on social and emotional skills based on happiness and their impact on students’ behavior and outcomes;
– Development of social and emotional training through the combination of 4 existing methodologies: Positive Psychology, Growth Mindset, GRIT, and Social Metacognition;
– Creation of supplementary materials for teachers – brochure and an extensive training toolkit;
– Creation of a virtual character avatar for a more engaging, inspiring, and motivating learning process;
– Development of a training program for teachers who will implement the project in schools;
– Implementation of social-emotional training in partner schools;
– Conducting training/workshops in schools to multiply the project’s results;
– Organization of local multiplication events to disseminate the project’s results.
